Come and see my art show!

Karen Elizabeth Stober on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 16:43:41

Now through August 31 come and see a display of my drawings and paintings. They are on exhibit in the Conti Room at the New Providence Library, 377 Elkwood Ave, New Providence, NJ 07974, 908-665-0311. Most pieces are for sale. If you don't know already, I painted many of the large signs of pirates, the large blue knight (but not the ones with the lettering on them), the portrait Search For The Grail (Art, Noreen, Jim and several others) signs several years ago, Punch & Judy for the puppet theater, many games and a number of small shields, including the fairy in Noreen's kitchen. This is my first art show.

EXPLODING TOILET CANCELS MY ART SHOW!!!

Karen Elizabeth Stober on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 14:51:05

I got a call this morning, Wednesday, from the New Providence Library. During the storm Sunday night, the toilet in the bathroom next to the Cobti Room at the library exploded and overflowed. The library is closed Sundays so the Conti room, part of the main room at the library and the library's basement were flooded. The carpets are ruined along with two walls. Fortunately, not a wall with my artwork on it. Because it was a toilet, the government considers it hazardous, contaminated flooding. All the carpeting has to be replaced. All the walls need to be painted. The room will be closed until the end of the year at least. I will reschedule the show. It will be 2011 or later, as it was over a year and a half wait for this one, and they don't know how many months backed up because of the flood the schedule will be.

My very first art show and it was killed by an EXPLODING TOILET!!! At least I had one month out of my two. All my pieces are in the playroom at my home. You are welcome to come and see them and go for a swim in my in ground pool, too.

Sorry Karen
